How To Overcome Opiate Addiction?

Opiate addiction - Finally agreed to stop but I am concerned with withdrawals. Can they be deadly. I dont like xanax but i take for panic attacks will this help the withdrawals. Should I wean myself off the opiates and any herbal medicine? Working out. What does anyone recommend that helps...

I understand your concerns.
Opiate withdrawls are not life threatening but painful.
Best course of treatment to visit a psychiatrist for de-addiction.
Xanax is not helpful in opiate de-addiction. The treatment is mainly symptomatic and drugs like amitriptyline, diclofenac are used.
Some doctors prefer to use buprenorphine or tramadol or methadone.
But all of thses drugs are to be taken only under psychiatrist's supervision.
