How to get relief from sharp pain in elbow?

I am having some pain in my left elbow it started yesterday when I woke up and I found I was unable to bend it there is a shooting pain that goes threw my arm . I have been taking some IB hoping that it would go away but its been over 24 hours and my arm is still in bad shape. I currently dont have medical and cant go to a doctor or er to have it looked at but I am scared it might be some thing bad

Hi Knight,
Thanks for writing your query.

After reading your post, it seems that the pain in your elbow can be muscular in origin and needs clinical examination and investigation.

You should give proper rest to the part.
Avoid lifting heavy weights from your left hand.
Doing hot fomentation and application of pain relieving gel will give some relief from pain.
Apply locally elastic crepe bandage on your left elbow for support.

If the pain is severe you can take ibuprofen one tablet twice a day after meals and a muscle relaxant like chloraxazone along with an antacid.
