How To Control Acute Craving For Smoking Cause After A Moderate Brain Injury?

my husband had surgery for an acute on chronic subdural hematoma the middle of September, 2013. He has been a smoker for 40 yrs, but wants to quit due to his having copd, since the surgery he has an overwhelming craving to smoke constantly.... he says he wants another cigarette while he is smoking one. The area of injury to his brain was the left side temporal area, his surgeon says he has moderate brain injury from this. Is it possible that this has damaged his impulse control ability, and if so, is there anything that can be done about it. I can't afford to buy him 3 packs a day, and his health wont allow it for long either.

The best thing to do in my experience is to start with a medication called as wellbutrin XL 150 mg once daily.
This will help to reduce craving and will reduce the number of packs.
