How Should An Enlarged Thyroid With Swelling Be Treated?

Just recently I had a child. She is 4 months old. I just recently noticed my Thyroid looking like it is a little enlarged than normal. I mean I have always been told by doctors that my thyroid is large but I have never noticed it swollen. My mother has had hers removed due to cancer so I am concerned that I may need to get it check out. Should I have this checked out or am I just being concerned for no reason?

Hello I just read your query and from what you have mentioned it appears that you have Goiter and from the family history that you have its better to have a thyroid function test done and an ultrasound of the thyroid gland just to be on the safe side.
Hope you find my advice of some benefit.Good luck.
