How Can Period Be Delayed Intentionally?

Hello
I am getting married on 23 Jan.
My periods started on 25 dec last month, and I have a 28 day cycle. It would mean, I get the periods on 21-22 Jan this month.
I would like to avoid getting periods on the wedding day itself. Can you suggest how do I go about it?
Is it better to prepone it or postpone it by 2-3 days?

What medicine should I take inn either of the cases?

There are several ways your period can safely be delayed, and doctors will often do this in cases like yours. You can use regular birth control pills or progesterone pills and they will be very effective in delaying your period. In your case, I would suggest that you ask your doctor if he/she can prescribe a progesterone that you can start around a week before the wedding, and continue until a day or two after the wedding, this would postpone your period until after the wedding.

Alternatively, you can start a birth control pill around now, and just take one pack, this would delay your period until this time next month. Either one would work, but you will need a prescription, so talk to your doctor about your options. Congratulations on your wedding and good luck!
