Hi,
Welcome to HCM
Acute painful swallowing is commonly due to infection of Tonsils and Throat, that is tonsillopharyngitis, but accurate history and examination is required to know exact cause of painful deglutition.
You should consult a ENT Surgeon who will examine and once cause is known it can be treated accordinly.
Sometimes a ulcer in posterior part may be very painful, even some pathology in food pipe cause pain ful swallowing.
so please do not neglect it arrange for consultation with GP/ENT Surgeon.
In the mean time a paracetamol or syrup may help to give some releif and hot saline gargles also help.
take care
Good luck to you
