Hit On The Head, Do Not Remember Anything Related To The Incident, Had Vomiting Post Injury. Serious Head Injury?

On saturday night me and my friend fell down concrete stairs and I hit my head on the brick wall. I do t remember anything before during and a lil after that. I do remember throwing up but it s a bit fuzzy I remember hearing things like my friend talking but couldn t understand what they were saying. I woke up not knowing what happened just that I thought I died last night. Can it be a serious head injury . I haven t went to see a doctor yet either.

Hi Miss Michelle,
The symptoms you have mentioned suggests towards Concussion injury. Following symptoms can be seen:-
> Nausea or vomitting
> Loss of memory
> Irritability or confusion
> Dizziness
> Persistent headache
> Episode of unconscioussness
> Episode of seizures
> Difficulty in balancing the body
It takes few days to weeks to heal properly with complete rest. Rest should be both physical and cognitive i.e. no television and no messaging etc. during rest period.
It is advisable that you should have a scan of your head done and get yourself examined by Neurophysican first.
Hope I am able to help you.
Thanks.

Hello Miss Michelle...
Thanks for your query.
Your history suggests AAN grade III concussion.
You need a thorough neurological evaluation and a CT scan of brain done.Neurological status should be evaluated daily until all symptoms have resolved.Dont worry too much, be smart and visit a neurologist as soon as possible and get the neuroimaging done.Stay in rest for few days ....And dont forget to update your investigation reports here.

Take care and get well soon :)
