History Of Surgery For Tore Tendon On Left Ankle. MRI Showed Lot Of Scare Tissue, No Dorsal Flection On Foot. Suggest
I had surgery for a tore tendon on the inside of my left ankle, I had a manipulation on march 20 2013 with no improve on ROM...They now want to go back in and release scare tissue. They feel the tendon and nerve are entrapped and needs to be released. I had an MRI and ultra sound that showed a lot of scare tissue....I don't want more surgery but my foot has no dorsal flection. I had the tendon repaired surgery Feb1st 2012.
I personally feel that Arthroscopic release of the scar tissue is better than an open release as there is every chance that it may lead to more scar tissue (fibrous tissue) formation and eventually worsen your condition with an open procedure. So, I suggest you to consult an Arthroscopic surgeon with ample amount of experience in Ankle arthroscopy.
If you are not willing for another surgical procedure, then the only option left to you that may improve your ROM is PHYSIOTHERAPY.
Hope this information is helpful. Good day
