What Does The Ankle MRI Report Suggest?

Hi, I had an MRI a week ago on my right ankle. The results said: there are small effusions of ankle and Subtalar joint . Also, minimal fluid within tendon sheaths of perineum longus and brevis. Minimal fluid of tendon sheath of posterior tibial tendon. There are degenerative osteophytes of Talonavicular joint . No tears tears are noted . What does all of this mean?

HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

An effusion is a collection of fluid. There are small collections of fluid in different areas of the ankle.

The tendon sheath is the outer covering of the tendon and very small amounts of fluid was noted in the tendon sheaths of three of the muscles in the ankle.

Degenerative osteophytes indicate that you have arthritis in the joint. The arthritis would cause the small fluid collections seen.

I hope this helps
