High Triglycerides, Bad Cholesterol. Cholesterol Test Done. Family History Of Heart Disease. Treatment?

Hi Doctor... I am 26 years old and just got my cholestrol test back... my Triglycerides are high at 412 which should be 150. ( heart desease runs in my family) total Cholestrol is 229 which is borderline. Good cholestrol is 40 which is low. Bad Chholestrol is 180 which is high I know. How do I get it under control with my eating habits not being too bad. I try to eat in moderation and healthy most of the time. I am a little overweight .. I know I could lose about 20lbs... what else should i do ?

Hi
with positive family history of heart disease your cholesterol level are not at acceptable level
you need to control your abnormal cholesterol level
make following life style changes
regular brisk walking atleast 30 -40 min /day
avoid any addiction (stop tobacco use in any form , limit your alcohol if you are using )
eat green leafy vegetables
avoid fatty food, fried food , backary product , pastries , dhee , butter , oily food , sweets , fruits like banana , mango ,custard apple , coconut , sea food like prawns , crabs , red meat , organs like liver , kidney , brain etc
eat more wallnut , almond , sea fish like tuna , salmon , sardish .
reduce weight ,
regular check up of your lipid level ,
and yes you also required to have regular heart check
