Heavy Periods, Bloating, Cramping. Having Fibroids. Suggested Hysterectomy, Don't Have Enough Recovery Period. Opinion?

Hi! I have 2 fibroids-one 8.6 by 6.8 and another 4.6 by 2.2. I feel bloated and heavy periods and bad cramps. also back pain. Have gained a few pounds that I cant loose. The big one is leaning against the bladder. I also am feeling like I never empty it fully. Considering embolization. Of course my gyn suggested hysterectomy. I dont have 6 weeks to recover. whats your opinion?

Hello,
Thanks for posting your query.
You are having big fibroids with symptoms like heavy period, back pain & irritable bladder.
So treatment of choice is hysterectomy.
You can go for laparoscopic hysterectomy, after laparoscopic surgery you can recover within short time.
I hope your query has been answered.

Hi thanks for your question.
One important point in history you have not mentioned is your age and parity that is number of childeren you are having.Anyway.there are 2 ways.of removing these fibroids. One remving the fibroids only if you have not completed your family and other way is hysterectomy if you have completed your family.Your fibroids are very large and the symptoms you are having that is heavy periods, cramps, backache and incomplete evacation of bladder are all due to fibroids. You have to get them removed.Recovery period can be reduced by leproscopic hysterectomy..
Hope this answers your question.
