Having Irregular Menses, When Should I Test For Pregnancy?

Hi, im 24 and been trying for a baby 3/4 times a week for 6 months, still no lucky yet. My periods are roughly every 3 months, I am worried there may be something wrong with me. I told the nurse i had irregular periods about 1yr ago, she didn't seem concerned. With these major irregulaties how/when am I supposed to test for pregnancy. Im driving myself crazy never knowing. please help!

Hello dear,I understand your concern.In my opinion the causes for irregular periods like overweight or obesity ,PCOD,thyroid abnormalities,any stress should be evaluated.Treating the cause might itself make the cycles regular.Urine pregnancy test will give accurate results if done after a week of missed period.But as the period cannot be predicted you can test every month.But I suggest to rule out the cause of irregularity first and then proceed further.
Avoid stress.
