Have Torn ACL, Going To Have Knee Surgery. Will Smoking Effect It?

I am goin to have surgery in 2weeks probably. I got monday to find out what im getting done and when... than hopefully after that I go in 2 weeks whenever my appt is available. I recently used to smoke but its been a week and will be 2 weeks or longer by the time I have surgery. Will it affect me im having knee surgery have a torn ACL .. its a complete tear?? Also ive been drinkin lots of water I dont have to much body fat on me..

Thanks for writing in.

Whether it is partial or complete tear can only be known through MRI scan. Smoking will not affect your knee surgery directly. However any surgery requires general fitness and a pre anesthetic check will be done on you to know your fitness for surgery.

If you are a chain smoker, it would be advisable to slow down.
