Have Sore Neck For A Year. Have "colds" Often. No Smoking. Have Fever, Aches Like Flu. Cough Smell Like Chlorine. Suggestions?e

My husband is a very active man in his mid 30s. He is outdoors a lot on the weekends. He has been complaining of a sore neck for about a year (I am not sure if that is related). Lately he has been getting "colds" often; at lest once a month. All symptoms have gone away after 2-3 days other than his cough; he sounds like a smoker (he does not smoke). He has had this cough for about 2 months. This past month he has gotten a "cold" with the same symptoms every week (lasting 2-3 days). He has ran a fever of 100-103, had muscles aches, chills, and sever sweating. He describes the aches to feel like the flu. Today he says when he coughs he can taste and smell chlorine; and his sputum smells of chlorine. What could be causing this?

HI
Thank fro asking question to HCM
You must not take this symptoms too lightly, better go for certain investigation to rule out the possibility of some respiratory infection, first is x-ray of chest second routine complete blood test, for that you will have to see the good physician so he can clinically examine your husband which is also necessary, have nice day.
