Have Severe GERD, Broken Elbow, Vomiting, Dry Heaving. Had Wrap Surgery And LCL Repair. Can I Take Demerol?

i have severe GERD, and had the wrap surgery years ago. now had surgery for broken elbow and LCL repair. doctor prescribed lortab for pain during PT but i cant stop throwing up and/or dry heaving on it, even with anti-nausea meds. same thing happens with Tylenol III. Will Demerol likly cause the same amount of nausea?

Narcotic analgesics(lortab,Demerol) usually cause nausea and should be avoided. NSAIDs and Tylenol if taken after meals may be tolerated, the use of antiemetics(onandesteron) and antacids will help prevent the dry heaves and nausea, addition of sucralfate syrup may help in the GERD and gastitis.
