Have Brown Discharge. On Microgynon. Mirena To Be Fitted. Is This Normal?
I'm on my first strip of Microgynon 30 and have had a brown discharge for the whole month.
I am on day three of my 7 day pill free week and having a light period. I was told to take the packets back to back to prevent a period but with the brown discharge and spotting I decided to go for a 7 day pill free period to get a period in an attempt to stop the brown daily discharge when I commence the pill again Tuesday next week.
Is this normal or should I go onto an alternative pill? I don't want a period
I'm 44 years old and have five children, waiting for the Mirena to be fitted as for five years I experienced no periods.
The presence of a brownish discharge could be purely related to the medication you are on, but is it better not to assume and get this checked up.
If the cause is something that requires medical attention then it will not subside or disappear just by having your period. No alternate pill will be required, but a doctors visit would be mandatory.
Hope this helps.
Best wishes.
