Had Unprotected Sex After Taking Out Nova Ring, Getting Cramping, Back Pain. Pregnant?
OK my situation is really complicated: I was supposed to take out my nuvaring May 12 I forgot and still had bleeding starting that day. I had bleeding for 2 weeks. I took the nuvaring out may 21st i had unprotected sex that week and every week at least once thereafter. I have been under a lot of stress and anxiety due to a personal issue so I am not sure if I am or am not. I am supposed to get my period this Sunday June 9 based on the pattern the nuvaring had me on. i have taken 2 pregnancy tests this week and they have all been negative. I am having cramping on my left side at my ovaries and it goes towards my back. could it be too early and could i be pregnant?
Each tie you have unprotected sex, the risk of becoming pregnant is real. Also, even the best methods of contraception are not 100% effective in preventing pregnancy. The symptoms you have could be anything from premenstrual symptoms, pregnancy or something else.
My advice is this, please patiently wait for your menses(hope they came already). If it didn't show up, then do a pregnancy test as the first step to find out what is happening.
I hope this helps. Wish you good health. Dr. Ditah

Hi, Thanks for using healthcare magic. I have gone through your available history. You are at risk of having pregnancy as you had unprotected sex. You should do urine pregnancy tests after 5 days of delay of regular menses. Delay in menses might be due to stress also. You should consult your gynecologist for expert examination and evaluation. Doctor may advise you to go for blood HCG test. I hope It will help you. Thanks.
