Had Sex And Took Contraception. Any Chance Of Getting Pregnant?

Hi Doc! The first day of my menstruation was September 12. I had unprotected sex on September 23 at around 4pm. I took Nordette as an emergency contraceptive pill at 9am on September 24 and took the second dose at 9pm. Is their a big chance of getting pregnant? I didn't actually vomit but I had headaches. I'm still waiting for a withdrawal bleeding after 5days.

Hello,

First of all, you did unprotected sex on relatively safe period as ovulation occurs approx 14 days prior to next due date.

Second thing, you took Nordette as emergency contraceptive pill within first 24 hrs and 2nd dose after 12 hrs. It gives protection more than 95%. Here, chance of pregnancy is quite low.

Withdrawal bleeding appears within 7 to 10 days in most women. Headache is mostly side effect of the pill. Drink more water and take some analgesics.
