HIV+ Person Touched My Pet, Hugged Her, Had Few Razor Burns. Chances Of Contracting HIV?
This man HIV+ with scabs on his hands and face touched my dog. I saw no signs of blood . He did let her frequently though. Afterwards I pet my dog, hugged her. I have a few razor burns on my legs, one of which had dried up blood (my own). I touched the razor burns after petting my dog. Could I possibly have contracted HIV by petting my dog then touchin my razor burns?

Hello,
HIV is transmitted through blood and merely by touching a pet or a person. The transmission rate is < 0.1% for deep pricks. In your case i am 100% sure that there are no chances of transmission there is no blood of the HIV infected was found on the pet. Take care
