Got An Abscess On Leg, Liquid Pus, Mass Like Cyst. Taken Duricef. Taken MRI. What Is It?

Hi, about a week ago I got a abscess on my upper leg near my bikini area. It suppurated by itself and I could get out a lot of liquid pus, this was after I took Duricef for a few days. I saw my Doctor today and he said that it did not suppurated as it supposed to and that I still got a had mass like a cyst. I got an MRI and I am waiting for the results. But I am scared of thinking that the hard mass could be something worst. Please advise.

Hello,
Please dont get scared of whats in store.
As you have already said, an abscess first appeared about a week ago and then there was pus formation.
Your doctor is doing the roight thing for you.
The MRI will possibly tell your doctor and you the extension and exact size of the abscess. Furthermore your doctor can take a more appropriate decision on draining the abscess if required or whether to treat by medicines only.
Get well soon.
