Hello and welcome,

There are a few causes of such type of bleeding. The commonest reason is hormonal imbalances, tumors of uterus called fibroids, problems with the blood clotting system and a condition called dysfunctional uterine bleeding.

As of now, all of these need to be ruled out step by step. The first is to get an evaluation by a gynecologist and an ultrasound to see if the uterus is normal. If this has already been done then tests for blood clotting must be done. The next step is an endometrial biopsy or a test called hysteroscopy where the endometrium is visualised with the help of a camera.

If they are normal then it is most likely dysfunctional bleeding without a cause which can be treated by hormones, coagulating the uterine lining by heat or cold [ endometrial ablation ] or removing the uterus [ hysterectomy] depending upon the case history as well as findings.

As her hemoglobin is 2, she will need blood transfusion. So see a doctor and discuss all these issues. She will be fine then.

Hope this satisfies your query.
