HI
FIRST OF ALL EITHER YOU TAKE MEDICINE EVERY DAY OR YOU DONE TAKE MEDICATION ESPECIALLY IN BP PATIENTS
BP OF EVERY PERSON IS FLUCTUATING EVERY SECOND TO MINUTE ......BUT WITH OLD AGE THAT FLUCTUATIONS INCREASES, VESSELS STIFFENS AND YOUR ORGANS ARE WEAK TO COMPENSATE ....SHE NEED MODIFIED RELASE OR SUSTAINED RELEASE MEDICATIONS .THERE ARE LOT MANY IN MARKET BUT PRESCRIPTION IS REQUIRED I WOULD SUGGEST CALCIUM CHANNEL BLOCKER SUSTAINED RELEASE TO PREVENT STROKE , HEART ATTACK...AND SO ON
TAKE CARE

Internal Medicine Specialist Dr. Akhilesh Dubey's  Response
Hi,
Welcome to HCM,
Your mother is 70 year and having Hypertension and Dyslipidemia, please understand she has to take treatment regularly there is nothing SOS for High BP therapy.
She should take treatment regularly at proper time if there are 2 or 3 drugs , she also need to reduce salt intake
Her Blood pressure should be monitored and depending on recordings dose of drug can be increased gradually, most common cause of such fluctuating BP is missing the medicine dose and
compliance of the patient.
Please consult Physician and follow his treatment ,I am sure her BP will be stabilize in some time.
In elderly patients Calcium channel blocker drugs are useful if tolerated .
If she is taking any other drug like painkiller (NSAIDs), should be avoided .
Regular walking 30 to 40 minute daily helps to keep blood pressure to lower level.
Please take care of Her
Good Luck.
