Fell And Twisted Torso. Why Are Ribs In Pain? Why Am I Bloated?
I fell down 6 days ago without any object touching my body. My torso twisted when I fell and I felt pain in my left rib cage. Between then and now, the pain eased but my left body seems stiffer now. Also my belly seems more bloated than before. Is it serious? Never had this before when I fell many a time in sports activities. I m 66 years old.
Hi,
Thanks for the consultation. As you told that you fell down 6 days ago and your torso was twisted which is now causing pain in the left rib cage.
This pain can be because of the trauma associated with the twisting of your body which may caused the muscular stretching leading to the pain. This is because our own body has so much weight that when we fall the body can have some trauma because of the body weight only even if do not have any contact with any object. Now since your age is 66 years, the chances of injury is also more. As far as bloating is concern, it may be associated with the rib discomfort.
I would suggest you if it is not reliving than consult some doctor and if require can take some pain killer with muscle relaxant.
Thanks and take care.
