Suggest Treatment For Testicular Calcification In A Child

Hello. My son, age 12, was kicked in the testicles in May of 2010. After seeing a Dr., he diagnosed an injury to his epyditimis (sp?). All these months later and because he was still experiencing such intense pain, we took him for another ultrasound. A large calcification has now formed and my question is this. What happens now. Is removal of this calcification indicated. The pain is very intense. He is seeing the Dr. in two days.

Hello,

In most cases it will settle by itself and surgery is not required. As of now continue pain killers. If the symptoms persist, surgical correction may be required.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Shinas Hussain, General & Family Physician
