FNA Smear Test Shows Granulomatous Lymphadenitis, Mycobacterial Infection. Meaning?

TARGET OF ASPIRATION: Lymph nodes right posterior cervical. MICROSCOPIC FINDINGS: FNA smears reveal multiple epithelioid cell granulomas, multinucleated giant cells of the Langhans type and reactive lymphoid cells. No necrosis or atypical cell is seen. ZN stain for AFB is negative. CONCLUSION: FNA, LYMPH NODES RIGHT POSTERIOR CERVICAL. -GRANULOMATOUS LYMPHADENITIS COMPATIBLE WITH MYCOBACTERIAL INFECTION.

hi i had gone through your query and understand your concerns. i would come up with the possibility of TUBERCULOSIS LYMPHADENITIS;the primary tuberculosis within the cervical lymph node and may be within the lungs.

-you need the course of anti tuberculosis treatment
