Excruciating Backpain In The Upper Left Side. Also Having Bronchitis. Back Hurts While Coughing. Are They Related?

Having excruciating stabbing back pain, upper left quadrant. Also recovering from bronchitis.
Pain is like knife stabbing while coughing and from certain movements of my arm. I am a bit concerned, not sure if the bronchitis (productive coughing) and the upper back pain are related. I would put the level of pain at 7.5 on a 1-10 scale.

Hi, Thanks for using HCM.

Severe pain while coughing and arm movement suggestive of musculoskeletal pain. Could be due to musclar strain or due to rib fracture from severe coughing.
On examination by a physician diagnosis can be confirmed. Analgesic with muscle relaxant medication helps to relieve pain in 2 or 3 days. If pain does not reduce need to get X-ray done for rib fracture.
Bronchitis needs to be treated to reduce sputum production and coughing.

Hope this helps you.

Regards
