Elevated Sugar Levels After Stopping Medication Due To Drug Reaction. History Of Diabetes, Childbirth. On Breastfeeding. Suggest

I delivered my baby through C-sec 12 days back and i am Type 2 diabetic. Four days back i developed severe sking allergy (due to drug reaction as per the doc) So was advised to stop all medications i was using including Glycomet 250mg (i was taking insulin all thru the pregnancy and gluconorm 500 prior to that).

Today a remedy was found to the rash and i had taken Avil injection and decdan injection. the Rash and itch have subsisided, however my sugars are elevated the 2 tims i checked post lunch and dinner. Physically i find no discomfort. Is it due to the medications. I am continuing to breastfeed as per the doc's advice.

Hello,

Steroids(Decdan) is known to interfere with blood sugar and cause hyperglycemia(Increase in the blood sugar).
If the allergic reaction have subsided. you may discuss with your doctor either to taper or stop steroid.
This may help you to control your blood effectively.
