Does Ovulation Occur After Uterus And Cervix Is Removed?

I had a hysterectomy 3 months ago and I just had an ultrasound for pelvic and back pain which showed a cyst on my right ovary. What does your body do as far as menstral cycles go when you no longer have a uterus or cervix? I still have my ovaries- will I continue to ovulate every month until menopause? I had previously been on birth control pills for 25 years prior to my surgery. Could going off of them create cyst on my ovaries?

Hi. Once uterus and cervix are removed ovaries will still continue their function and HPO axis will remain intact. In young patients who need hysterectomy for some reason and ovaries found healthy are left behind to function normally and produce hormones so that menopausal symptoms are not encountered early. So, there can be cyst formation also.
Thanks.
