Does Ritalin Medication Cause Aggressive Behaviour In ADHD Patient?

My 12 yr old daughter has just been diagnosed with ADHD and has been prescribed Ritalin. I'm not convinced Ritalin is working but I have noticed that my daughter is more aggressive the week or so before her period. Should she stop taking Ritalin and takae medication for her hormones instead?

Hi, Thanks for asking.
I can understand your concerns.
In my opinion ADHD is diagnosed only if symptoms are persistent for last six months and its affecting the functioning of the child. There may be more aggression at the pre menstrual time but if the other symptoms are persistent then just taking hormonal medication will not help.
In my opinion you should continue Ritalin.
I hope I have helped you.
Thank you.
