Diagnosed With Bronchitis Which Is Causing Shortness Of Breath

I was diagnosed a couple of years ago with bronchiectasis. I have noticed lately an increase in shortness of breath. I use a pro-air inhaler and it helps, temporarily. I am not coughing up anything. My coughs tend to be dry. Wondering what could be causing the shortness of breath I am noticing. No change in lifestyle or diet. When I inhale, it is like sucking air through a straw with a hole in it. Best way I can describe it.

HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

Bronchiectasis refers to a condition where damage to the airways causes widening. It is likely that this is contributing to your shortness of breath.

It would be best to visit your doctor for a review. In addition to reviewing your symptoms to determine if it is a flare up, your doctor will also be able to rule out other possible causes such as heart related causes of shortness of breath.

I hope this helps
