Delayed Periods. Prescribed Duphaston. Pregnancy Test Negative. Trying To Conceive. What To Do?

Hi ,

I am 38 year old and trying to conceive. My periods are delayed by 2 weeks but home pregancy tests have shows negative results. I went to the Dr who prescribed my Duphaston 10 mg twice a day for 5 day. However I had forgotten to mention that my mother is a Breast Cancer patient. Is it safe for me to take this medicine ?

Hi thanks for asking on HCM.

According to UK Medical Eligibility Criteria progesterone only pills like duphaston can be used in patients with a carrier gene for breast cancer. Also, you are using it for a short duration and not for regular contraception. So, you can take it safely without any worries.

Good Luck
