Delay In Periods, Negative Pregnancy Test. Did Not Restart Pills Post Period, Had Unprotected Sex. Suggestions?

I was on the pill, broke for a period. Period ran from 8th-11th April. Should have then started pill back up but missed 4 out of 7 due to being away. Had unprotected sex around my ovulation date on 20th & 21st April. Had sore nipples and snot like mucous on odd occasion when I wipe. Other symptoms present but may be in my head as its all I can think about. Regular period should be due around now. Took test and was Negative. Do I test from regular period or the second period?

Hi there ~

I understand your concern. Firstly, it is okay to miss pills, however not for a prolonged period. In your case I hope you started taking the Day 8 pill on time as scheduled. I also think that you should have been safe in the first place with advising your partner to take precautions if you were not wanting to have a baby. I think that there are many ways to do so and wearing condoms would have decreased the chances of becoming pregnant. I advise you to take the pregnancy test about a week after your last UPT to determine pregnancy. I hope this helps to determine your pregnancy status.
