Hi I am Anne and recently had mastectomy (Nov. 14, 2013) and was diagnosed with Mucinous Breast Carcinoma and on my 8th day taking tamoxifen (Started taking on Dec 20, 2013 every 8pm). On the 6th day of tamoxifen I underwent blood test of Glucose (FBS) 4.42, Creatinine 56.76, SGPT 55.23, Alkaline phosphatase105.8, & Total Bilirubin 13.33. However, I noticed that my SGPT is above normal. Is it because that a portion of my muscle tissue was damaged since it was also removed during mastectomy? Or is it a side effect of tamoxifen that made my SGPT elevate. What probably is the reason that elevate my SGPT? Does this elevation can immediately affect and damage my liver? On the other hand, is it safe to take ferrous sulfate 325 mg with tamoxifen without hurting my liver? My CBC test results were Hemoglobin 107, Erythrocyte numc 5.14, Leukocyte 4.4, Leukocyte Segs 0.41, Lymphocyctes 0.53, Monocytes 0.06, MCV 68.3, MCH 20.8, MCHC 30.4, Erythrocyte volfr 0.35, Thrombocyte numc 272. Thanks and Happy Holidays.
