Could Continous Brown Discharge Mean That I Am Pregnant?

I had some brown discharge 2 weeks ago, very light, didn t even need a liner. This was 1 week before the time I expected my period. I have taken 3 HPT, urine based, all negative. Last negative HPT was yesterday. Can I be pregnant? Could I have experienced an anovulatory cycle?

Hello
Thanks for writing to us with your health concern.
WIth 3 negative HPTs, you are most probably not pregnant.
Just some amount of brownish discharge does not comment on your ovulation.
It could be ovulatory spotting or just pre menstrual spotting.
Spotting once in a while is a normal occurrence.
IT could be due to stress, anxiety, weight gain, erratic eating or sleeping habits, thyroid hormone dysfunction, polycystic ovarian syndrome etc.
IF the spotting recurs, please schedule a gynecological consult to know the cause.
Please have a detailed internal evaluation and hormonal blood levels to know what is going on.
Wait for your period for a few more days.
If there is no menstrual bleeding, you can repeat the pregnancy test.
All the best
Take care.
