Clearing Abnormal Period, On Novelon. Is It Safe?
Hi doctor,
My wife is taking Novelon for the last 2 months and continuing its last course for clearing her abnormal period. the period is normal during this period, is it possible to get pregnant after the course ...i mean the very next month? we are eagerly waiting for your reply.I forced to ask this question because i saw in internet that this medicine is used for avoiding pregnancy. please clarify our doubt. we need a child soon?

Novelon is an oral contraceptive combination used for contraception as well as for treating menstrual irregularities. If her period is normal this time, it is due to the pills. She may need to continue the treatment for a few more months, else the irregularity may recur. Return of fertility may take a couple of months as return of ovulation may take some time after the pills. You may follow your doctor's instructions as any menstrual irregularity needs to be corrected first to enhance fertility. Hope your query is clarified. Good luck.
