Chronic constipation, pain, stiffness, numbness in stomach, back, ribs, burning, itching. Advice?

My fiance has been experiencing chronic constipation, extreme pain, stiffness, and some numbness through his stomach, back, sides, ribs, and into his arms and legs; burning and itching sensation as well. He has muscle weakness and has been unable to do basic workouts because of the stiffness and pain. This has been going on for almost 5 months now. Any thoughts of what might cause such symptoms?
