Child Not Eating Food Properly, Motion Having Foul Smell, Greenish Yellowish Color, Started Cow Milk. Solution?
Hi doctor,
My baby is 1 year and 3 months old. He was 8 kg when he was 1year and 1 month old. He is not eating anything properly for the last 2 months, except milk. His motion is having v foul smell and at times seems to be loose at the end with greenish yellowish color. We started cow milk / milma around 2 months back. He is active and playing as normal, but not eating properly. No fruits or vegetables is entering his tsomach.. I am now really worried. Can you suggest and give some solution for the same..

1. weight of your baby at 1 yr of age is less . it should around 10-12 kg ./
2 . i think you have stooped breast feeding .
3 . you are giving cow milk since 2 month . u should watch regularly if complaint of fowl smelling motion remains continue you should consult with doctor . might be allergic to cow milk .
4 . after 1 yr of age child should eat 1/2 katori daliya . khichdi . sugi khir with added 1spoon vegetable oil . with 2 times fruits mash, apple . chiku , yellow colour fruit .
5 . you should go for complete examination . test required stool routine and microscopy , CBC , CRP .
6 . regular weight and height monitrning very necessary .
7 . in case of loose motion maintain hydration status . continue ORS directed by doctor
lastly it looks that your baby has allergy from cow milk or worm infestation .
diagnosis can be made with investigation . consult doctor

this looks like infective diarrhea
give walamycin 5ml twice daily, one sachet sporolac with water, curd rice or buttermilk feeding
usually improves within 2-3 days
