Child having running nose, cough. Vomitings after drinking Nido milk or fruit juices. What to do?

Hi Doctor, my boy is 14 months. I used to give him NAN milk and changed it to Nido about 3 weeks ago. He has a runny nose and coughs a lot. After every Nido milk bottle he vomits. The school told me it can also be his fruit juice bottles. It think it can also be some kind of sinus. Should I put him back on Nan 3 or stop giving him fruit juice ?
Thank you

Hi Bernice,

Running nose, cough could be related to common cold, for which you can use saline nose drops to help relieving the nose secretions. Give some tea like chamomile to help relieve cough.

Stop using fruit juice and see if your child is vomiting or not. If he is not vomiting anymore, then, stop giving him forever as could be a reaction to the ingredients inside the fruit juice.

It is better to give freshly squeezed fruit juice to your children as he is very very young. Market fruit juices have extra sugar that could harm your child. They contain other preservatives or con-servants that also cause harm.
