Child Has Stomach Pain, No Appetite, Nosebleed. Help

Hi
For quite a while now my daughter has been off food, she has stomach pain quite often and has recently started being sick after food.
Today she has had a nosebleed the 2nd in 3 weeks.
I will be taking her to the doctors tomorrow but wanted some advice now.
She is 5 years old and has been otherwise healthy.
Thank you

Pediatrician 's  Response
Hi,

Thank you for your query on Healthcare Magic.

Stomach pain is a common symptom in children.

She needs physical examination and investigations like ultrasound, urine examination, and stool examination to look for any organic causes.

Nose bleed is due to bleeding from delicate mucosa of nostrils which is aggravated by nose picking, dry weather most of the times.

If there is active bleeding pinch the nostril to stop bleeding.

Ask her not to put fingers in nostrils.

Consult the pediatrician for examination and evaluation.

Hope I have answered your query.

Regards.

Pediatrician Dr. Emmette Clark's  Response
I agree that her doctor needs to do a complete exam on her as well as some lab tests, including a blood count and urine test. For her nosebleed, you might try a product called Nosebleed QR, available online and at most pharmacies. This product will stop about 10 nosebleeds pretty quickly. Applying some Vaseline inside her nostrils at night will help to keep the tissue moist so it doesn't bleed as easily at night.
