Can The TSH Levels Be Controlled During Pregnancy?

Hi,

I am 41 and am newly pregnant through IVF with a TSH level of 7.07. They raised my thyroid med. since ttc from 50mg-125mg. I did get pg once before and they just raised it to 75mg at that time. MY HCG is better than the first time. Is there anything I can do?

Hello, there is a need for strict control of TSH level during pregnancy as thyroid is very essential for growing foetus.there is increase in demand for thyroid harmone during pregnancy . TSH level should be kept under 2.5mIU. Your doctor will ask you to repeat TSHlevels and adjust the dosage accordingly.
so, dont worry. Take care.

Regards,
Dr.Silpa.
