I have the mirena iud have 2 and I have 6 months left before it needs to be replaced my dr does a blood test and and she called said it was 101 and 116 is menopause. I don't have period but I have sex drive and wet in vagia get hot once in a while but I am 51 will be 52. I HAVE A 19 YEAR OLD DAUGHTER. I HAVE NO PROBLEMS WITH MY IUD I DONT CRAMP OR BLEED. THE ONLY THING WEIRD IS THE BLOOD TEST I HAVE HAD TEST BEFORE I GET A YEARLY PAP TEST MY DAUGHTER SAYS I AM WET AND PINK THERE LOOKS GOOD BUT THE BLOOD TEST CAME BACK 101 WHAT DOES THAT MEAN COULD IT BE A FALSE READING ON BLOOD TEST.
Hello and welcome to HCM, The age range for menopause is variable. Some women are menopausal at 45 and some at 55 years so the age is not fixed and quite variable. As menopause advances, the frequency of periods decreases. However, it cannot be assessed in your case since you are on IUCD. The sex drive and vaginal wetness does not immediately disappear. The test confirmatory for menopause is raised urine levels of FSH. At this point of time you can get the IUCD removed. If you are apprehensive of the symptoms of menopause you can always get hormone replacement therapy.
