Can Ercefuryl Syrup Be Be Given To A Child Having Diarrhea?
My 2yr old kid have diarrhea for a week and her vowel is color yellow and watery,microscopic findings is : pus cells at 1-2/kpf . RBC at 0-1/hpf. And fat globules indicate as many..negative on ova n parasite..We just gave her a ercefuryl syrup.because we have no avialable pedia doc here due to seminars conference..and we just advice to take a 5ml 3x a day for 5days..and my daughter is still active , drink much milk n water but no appetite for solid food.. My question is if this is alarming..? Or we gonna wait for the pedia to arrive by tomorrow at pm..? And the medicine(ercefuryl) will work?

Hi,dear,I have gone through your question and understand your concern.Ercefuryl is helpful for diarrhea, but you should continue till 7 days,but do corrections in diet: stop giving milk and diary products till normal stool.Give rice ,rice soup,boiled mashed potatoes.Add enzymes syrup and charcoal 1 tablet daily.Also you should start to give ORS and probiotic-Vizylac 1 capsule daily.
