Can Effexor Cause Leukopenia And Monocytopenia?
Can Effexor cause leukopenia and monocytopenia? I also had a high RDW .. I had to be tapered off Effexor due to its horrible side effects. I was experiencing frequent bruising, faintness and dizziness and nausea . My doctor had my labs drawn because he was concerned the medicine was causing these effects. Could Effexor possibly be the cause of my lab results?

Yes your doctor is right in withdrawing he drug as EFFEXOR is known to have many haematological adverse effects which include
Anaemia
Leukocytosis
Leukopenia
Thrombocytopenia
Thrombocythemia
Increased bleeding time
Pupura
Although these events occur during treatment with venlafaxine, causality has never been determined.
