Can Cialis Cause An Increase In Blood Pressure In Someone Already Being Treated For Hypertension?

I have high blood pressure that I take medication for. I do not take nitrates. I started using Cialis a couple of months ago. About the same time, my blood pressure has increased and is more difficult to control. Can Cialis cause an increase in blood pressure in someone already being treated for hypertension?

Hi,

Cialis actually has a risk of causing low blood pressure and not raised blood pressure. So I do not feel that your hypertension is directly related to the use of Cialis. Since you are taking other medicines, it will make sense to check if Cialis has any known drug interactions with the medications you are on, that can explain your increase in blood pressure. If not, then you need to look for other reasons for the worsening of hypertension.

Best wishes.
