Can bleeding of uterus be caused by a vaginal infection? I have a vaginal infection and my doctor put me on antibiotics then is going to do a biopsy because I'm Post menopausal but I'm wondering if the Infection could of spread to My uterus . The bleeding is just spitting of brown blood . I appreciate your opinion
Hi, Thanks for the query. Yes, sometimes uterine infection can lead to postmenopausal bleeding. Other causes are : - Endometrial atrophy -Endometrial thickening, neoplasia etc -Cervical causes - Vaginal dryness etc. For more details : http://srsree.blogspot.in/2013/12/postmenopausal-bleeding.html Possibly by examination and biopsy, the cause for your problem can be identified and treated.
