OBGYN 's  Response
Hello and welcome,
I am Dr Madhuri a Consultant Obstetrician and Gynecologist and will be helping you with your queries.

The results mean the following:

The uterus is enlarged than the normal size. Normally it is 8x7x6 cm. So it is almost 12 cm now. The isoechoic lesion of approximately 4x1 cm is most probably a fibroid.

The endometrium is the lining of the uterus that is shed during periods. A lining of 1.1cm is slightly thicker than normal but this also depends on when the scan is done. If this is immediately after periods [ we expect it to be thin then] then it is very thick whereas during ovulation it is OK.

The lesion in the endometrium of 1.7x0.7 is most likely an endometrial polyp or excessive growth of the uterine lining.

The impression is that all such findings are mostly due to excess action of the hormone estrogen. The uterus is enlarged because of the fibroid [ non cancerous tumor of uterus, very common]. The thick lining and polyp also suggests an excess estrogen and is commonly found with fibroids.

So the report is not unusual and the condition is fairly common and nothing to worry about. It just requires proper treatment so kindly discuss this with your doctor and then decide.

Hope this satisfies your query.
