Can Any Online Doctor Help Me With The Following Results?

I did an echo scan that revealed a normal anteverted uterus with uniform myometrial echotexture. calcified intramural fibroids are seen. they measure 2.9 X 2.8cm and 2.9 X 2.0cm with the anterior and posterior walls respectively. the endometrium is well delineated and measures 9.7cm in AP dimensions. what does this mean? What am I expected to do?

OBGYN 's  Response
Hi,

I want to suggest that if you have mentioned your age, presenting complaints and obstetric history, more specific opinion will be possible. Anyhow according to your ultrasound report:
- Your uterus is of almost of normal size and in normal position.
- Myometrial echo texture is almost uniform.
- Regarding fibroids, usually intramural fibroids of around 2.9 to 2.8 cms, with calcification, indicate long standing fibroids and may not lead to any specific symptoms. Usually seen in late reproductive age or in menopausal women.
If you are not having symptoms like excessive bleeding or pain during periods and/or irregular cycles, you may not need any treatment for these fibroids.
- Endometrial thickness of 9.7 mm is almost normal in second half of the menstrual cycle.

Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Sree Gouri S. R., OBGYN
