Can I Substitute Mononessa To Plan B And If So, How Many Should I Take?

hello, I have read that it is possible to use birth control as an emergency plan B pill. I was prescribed mononessa but have not taken it yet since I have not started my period. Is it very much possible to use it as substitute for plan B and if so, how many pills would need to be taken and how often.

Hi,
Thanks for the query.
Yes, combined hormonal pills can be used as emergency contraceptive pills in case of non availability of emergency pill.
For that you have to take four combined hormonal pills within 72 hours of unprotected intercourse.
Next four tablets should be taken within 24 hours of first dose.
Better to take the pills with your doctor's advice only.
Repeated intake of high dose pills can lead to menstrual irregularity.
So, better to use contraceptive pills regularly as per as possible.
Take care.
