Can Domperidone Cure Gastric Reflux?

Hni, gmay I answer your health queries right now ? Please type your query here...Hi, I have been prescribed Domperidone for 10 days. It has cured my sore throat which I've had almost daily for 5 years. I also take Lansoprazole. My last Domperidone tablet is due today. When I stop taking Domperidone will my symptoms return or will this drug have permanently re-set my gastric reflux?

Hello,

If your symptoms are due to GERD (Gastro esophagus reflux disease), then Domperidone drug with Lansoprazole drug will sure helps you in a sore throat and in acid reflux symptoms. Let me inform you that Lansoprazole is the prime drug and not the Domperidone.

Once you finished the course of drug (It may of three-week minimum and six weeks maximum), then symptoms will not occurs again if this is just due to acid reflux disease but for other illness like allergic condition, throat infection that needs to rule out.
