Brand Of Sun Light Therapy Lamps For Seasonal Depression?

I have seasonal depression which makes me feel terribly irritable, low energy, moody and anxious...my OCD can be bad one day, and non-existent the next day. This winter has been my worse. I m 34, stay at home mom of twin 8 yr old boys and a 4 yr old daughter. My job as a mom and wife I need to be able to function and beat this. I m currently on 20 mg Celexa and Xanax as needed for emergencies. I do get panick attacks . My doctor sees me once a month or as needed. He recently told me to try adding Lecithin 1360 mg 2-3 x daily, as I m trying to see if there are more natural approaches to help me in winter and year round feel more balanced! In addition to Lecithin, are there any OTC supplements or simple vitamins I should try to help me adjust through winter. I live in Upstate NY, it s miserably depressing. But moving is not an option....any recommendations for a brand of sun light therapy lamps or bulbs and supplements? Do un lamps help ppl with this kind of depression and anxiety that worsens in winter?

Hello,
Thanks for choosing health care magic for posting your query.
I have gone through your question in detail and I can understand what you are going through.
Seasonal depression is the only depression which responds well to the light therapy. Its useful and should be used properly and regularly. Infact I would suggest that you need to use it even before the symptoms of depression start during winter.
There is no specific brand of light therapy and the products of various companies are available on amazon as well.
Lecithin may help. St johns wort is a herbal option and can be tried along with the light therapy as a natural treatment option for depression.
Hope I am able to answer your concerns.
If you have any further query, I would be glad to help you.
If not, you may close the discussion and if possible you may rate the answer for me, so that I get a good feedback.
